FALCOH participation at the Civil Society Forum 2019

“Engaging Civil Society to Accelerate Regional Integration for Africa’s Economic Prosperity”

Abidjan, Ivory Coast, 07 – 09 May 2019

Each year the African Development Bank (AfDB) organises a Civil Society Forum, which is a platform to promote dialogue between CSOs and AfDB. This year, the 10th anniversary of the forum was commemorated under the banner of, "Engaging Civil Society to Accelerate Regional Integration for Africa's Economic Prosperity".

The forum which took place in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, from the 7th - 9th May, 2019, was attended by over 300 delegates representing all five operational regions in the continent, as well as different sectors and groups.

The CEO of 'Favour Low-Cost Healthcare Foundation (FALCOH)' represented the organisation among the few delegates from Cameroon.

The objective of this meeting was to;

- provide a platform and voice to CSOs for a structured dialogue between AfDB and Africa Civil Society to support the implementation of the Bank's Regional Strategy,

- familiarise CSOs with the Bank's regional integration strategy,

- launch the Social and Civil Mobilisation Campaign for the replenishment of African Development fund among others.

By and large, this meeting was meant to demystify the AfDB's role in the continent and to make its development projects known to the common man on the street. CSOs have been recognized as formidable partners in the realization of this mission. The CSO engagement by the AfDB is happening at a time when the WHO and World bank are engaging CSOs to foster the UHC2030 agenda.

FALCOH has been very privileged to be part of these multi-partner initiatives and remains committed to provide healthcare services to every individual, in every household and in every community in Cameroon.
